Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior believes Joao Pedro is already performing at a level that places him among the world’s top strikers.
The Brazilian forward has enjoyed an outstanding run of form, producing goals and performances that have drawn comparisons with some of football’s biggest names.
However, Rosenior has been careful about how far those comparisons should go.

Liam Rosenior addresses Joao Pedro’s comparison with Haaland, Mbappe, and Kane
The Sun reported Rosenior’s response when asked whether Joao Pedro should be mentioned alongside stars such as Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, and Harry Kane.
“Joao is in that category now. Consistently in the two months that I’ve been here, he’s shown that he is a world-class striker. I talk about my players. It’s disrespectful to Erling to compare them,” Rosenior said.
He added: “I don’t know him very well, but I do know that from the outside, he’s a magnificent world-class striker too.”
The Chelsea manager’s comments reflect just how impressed he has been with Pedro’s impact since arriving at the club.
While Rosenior acknowledged the elite level of players like Haaland, he also made it clear that Pedro’s recent performances have placed him firmly in the conversation about top attacking talent.
For a young striker still developing his game, that kind of praise from his manager underlines the rapid progress he has made.
Liam Rosenior refuses to swap Joao Pedro for another striker
Rosenior also suggested he would not trade Pedro for any other striker right now because of the form the Brazilian is showing.
“I wouldn’t swap Joao out for anyone in this moment, to be honest. He’s showing all of the things and the attributes I want to see, and I think for Joao, the great thing is his age,” Rosenior continued.
The Chelsea boss concluded: “He can still improve, and I’ve noticed several areas for improvement, which is really good.”
The comment highlights how highly Rosenior currently values the forward within Chelsea’s squad.
Pedro’s age means there is still significant room for development, something the manager believes could make him even more dangerous in the coming seasons.
If the Brazilian continues on his current trajectory, comparisons with some of football’s biggest names may become increasingly difficult to avoid.
