Veteran goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa is set for a record sixth World Cup participation just like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as he has been named into Mexico's squad.
Ochoa, 40, is among the 26 players named by coach Javier Aguirre who at the other end of the age spectrum has also picked 17-year-old midfielder Gilberto Mora.
Unlike Portugal's Ronaldo and Argentina's Messi, Ochoa has only played at the 2014, 2018 and 2022 tournaments. He was an unused substitute in 2006 and 2010 and faces the same role this time as Raul Rangel is first choice.
Ochoa, who plays for AEL Limissol in Cyprus, has 153 caps.
Mexico open the World Cup they co-host with the United States and Canada on June 11 against South Africa. South Korea and the Czech Republic are their other group stage opponents.
