
Tuaran: A group of Chinese New Year lion dance performers fell into a hole, Thursday, after the concrete floor in front of a premises in Tamparuli town collapsed.
In the incident around 11am, three performers escaped injuries and were rescued by their teammates who pulled them out of the meter-deep hole.
AdvertisementA witness, Rayner Ebi, 45, said the unexpected incident shocked the crowd that was watching the performance.
“This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining basic facilities in the town area,” he said in a statement on his Facebook page.

He said the issue regarding the sidewalk floor of the premises had already been reported to the Tuaran District Council before the incident occurred.

Rayner also advised pedestrians in the town to be cautious when passing through the affected area to avoid any untoward incidents.
