Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah was delighted after victory over Newcastle United on Monday night.
Salah struck twice with Curtis Jones and Cody Gakpo also scoring for the hosts. The Egyptian could also afford to miss one of two penalties.
He said: "It's a great result for us. The game was very intense and we managed to pick up three points and now we are top of the table. We need to stay calm and win every game.
"The players spoke in the dressing room. We have to stay calm. I missed the pen. I didn't want to leave (for AFCON) with national team with that performance."
"I'm calm. I always practice. The first one I was confused because the goalkeeper moved. The second one I did like I did in training."
On being leaders, he said: "We believe a lot. We need to work hard and express ourselves on the field. If we manage to do that and work hard then we can keep winning."
