Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo is happy interest from Manchester United fell through.
Gakpo, 24, left PSV Eindhoven for Liverpool in January 2023.
But before that, he was in high demand from rival Manchester United. Gakpo admits that Erik ten Hag wanted to sign him in the summer of 2022.
"It was the summer before. I was in contact with the club and the manager - he's Dutch so I spoke to him too," the 24-year-old told Sky Sports.
"In the end it was nothing, that was everything, and during the winter Liverpool came. It was the best decision for me."
