Liverpool are reportedly keeping an eye on a player who once shared a dressing room with Hugo Ekitike at Eintracht Frankfurt as the Reds continue to monitor defensive options.

The Reds have already strengthened at left-back with the arrival of Milos Kerkez. The Hungarian defender is now establishing himself at Anfield after struggling in his first months.

However, reports in Germany suggest the Premier League side are still scouting talent across Europe ahead of the summer window.

According to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool sent scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt during their 2-0 Bundesliga win against SC Freiburg last Sunday.

Plettenberg reported on X that the player being monitored was Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown, who previously played alongside Ekitike at the German club.

“Liverpool watched Nathaniel Brown live in the stadium last Sunday during Eintracht Frankfurt’s 2-0 win against SC Freiburg. At the moment, however, nothing is concrete/advanced and there is no urgency, as Liverpool trust Milos Kerkez,” he wrote.

The report suggests Liverpool are simply gathering information on the 22-year-old defender rather than actively pushing for a deal at this stage.

Eintracht Frankfurt set £52m asking price amid growing interest

Brown’s performances in the Bundesliga have reportedly attracted attention from several top European clubs.

Plettenberg adds that Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krösche would demand at least £52 million (€60 million) for the left-back if he leaves the club in the summer transfer window.

Real Madrid have already placed the defender on their shortlist, while Barcelona and Manchester United are also monitoring the situation.

With multiple clubs tracking the 22-year-old, Liverpool could face significant competition if they decide to step up their interest in the Frankfurt defender in the coming months.
