Liverpool have had an offer for Romeo Lavia accepted by Southampton.
After three offers fell short of Saints' 50m valuation, the Reds have now had a 60m bid accepted, says the Guardian.
However, the deal is yet to be settled with Chelsea also in the mix - this despite their deal for Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo.
In Liverpool's favour is Lavia being more enthusiastic about a move to Anfield in contrast to Caicedo.
However, there is also the threat of Manchester City, which retain a 45m buy-back clause in Lavia's deal.
