Liverpool hero John Aldridge has urged manager Jurgen Klopp to temper his ambitions.
Aldridge feels a Quadruple push will be too much for Klopp's squad.
He wrote for the Sunday World: "Liverpool are heading into 2024 with ambitions to win four trophies, but that target may not be realistic.
"I'm delighted to be writing such optimistic words as the introduction to my first Sunday World column of this New Year because if we roll the clock back 12 months, the team were in a very different place and going backwards quickly.
"Jurgen Klopp's team headed into this New Year top of the league and looking forward to today's FA Cup tie at Arsenal and the Carabao Cup semi-finals against Fulham.
"That has sparked suggestions that Liverpool could have another push at a quadruple, a couple of years after they came up just short of the ultimate achievement of winning four trophies in a season.
"The 2021/22 season ended with the FA Cup and League Cup (I'll always call it that!) trophies coming back to Anfield, but they came up short in the Premier League and then lost the Champions League final in Paris against Real Madrid.
"That season highlighted how tough it is to compete to the end in four competitions and we saw the drop off from that team in the season that followed, as they looked drained by the experience.
"Now Klopp and his rebuilt side are in a great position to challenge for the Premier League title, they can have a real go at getting to the Europa League Final in Dublin next summer and they are big favourites to win the League Cup.
"If they can get through today's FA Cup tie at Arsenal, no-one will want to get Liverpool in the draw, but I wonder if they can continue at the pace they have been going for the next five months."
