Preliminary investigation revealed that the subsidized items were supplied by individual(s) from other district and the suspect was believed involved in buying and selling the items since early 2025, he said.

Rani said investigation is ongoing under the Control of Supplies Act 1961.

He said the operation showed continuous commitment of the enforcement agencies to curb smuggling activities involving subsidized items that affect the people and local economy.
