
- Thousands of homes and businesses across central and east London were hit by a widespread power outage starting at 10:32 am on Monday morning.
- The blackout impacted around 32 postcodes, bringing offices in Shoreditch to a standstill and shutting down information screens at London Liverpool Street station. UK Power Networks explained that the disruption was caused by a fault with the the underground electricity network in the local area.
- Electricity was restored incrementally after power was diverted to thousands of properties, with full restoration achieved across all postcodes by 12:09 pm.
- Affected east London postcodes include: E8 4, E9 5, E9 6, E9 7, EC2A 1, EC2A 2, EC2A 3, EC2A 4, EC2M 3, EC2M 4, EC3A 7, IG3 8
