Long queues formed at petrol stations in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka on Sunday as motorists rushed to secure fuel amid fears of shortages linked to the war involving Iran.

Drivers waited for hours under a government rationing system that limits the amount of fuel each vehicle can receive.

Bangladesh imports most of its fuel and gas from abroad, largely from the Middle East. Officials warned the conflict could affect supply chains and urged the public to use fuel carefully.

Authorities said several shipments of fuel and gas are already on the way to ease the situation.
