Kota Kinabalu: Association of Consulting Engineers Malaysia (Acemn) Sabah branch hoped the new government could look into matters that have long been a plight of the engineering industry and adjust to a more equitable position in line with the call for the 1963 Malaysia Agreement (MA63) and the Engineers Board Regulation.Its Chairman, Razalie Sindong, said this while leading a delegation of 10 engineers in paying a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Minister III cum Works Minister Datuk Ir Shahelmey Yahya, here, recently. He also submitted a memorandum which contains, among others matters, on scale of fees, prioritising local talents, supervision and setting of fees and costs.

Shahelmey thanked the engineers and encouraged more input and feedback from the industry so that he may highlight necessary issues of the profession and its equivalent in both the Parliament and State Legislative Assembly.
