SIPITANG: A 42-year-old lorry driver sustained minor injuries after the three-tonne vehicle he was driving, loaded with 25 diesel barrels, skidded and overturned at the roadside in Sungai Bolar.
The Fire and Rescue Department received the emergency call at 4.25pm and arrived at the scene, 12 kilometres away, at 4.43pm.
The injured driver was treated at the scene and transported to the hospital by the Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) unit.
Hazmat specialists ordered firefighters to remain on site as a safety precaution until the diesel and vehicle were safely unloaded and secured.
Operations were declared safe and concluded at 7.22pm, with no further hazards reported.
