KOTA KINABALU: A 21-year-old lorry driver was jailed for two days and fined RM10,000 or spent three months in jail for offering a RM150 bribe to police traffic.

Sessions Court judge Jason Juga meted out the sentence to Mohammad Asraffi, who pleaded guilty to the charge against him.

Mohammad had offered the bribe to ASP Daniel Dominic, who was attached to the Kota Kinabalu Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.

The bribe was an inducement not to take action against Mohamad for driving without a driving license and also to release his undocumented girlfriend.
