THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said it is conducting a feasibility study with the Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) for new bus routes from Antipolo City to Manila.
"Our initial information shows a significant increase in LRT-2 passengers, especially during the morning and afternoon rush hours. Our goal is to come up with new routes that will serve as an alternative mode of transportation for passengers," Acting LTFRB Chairman Greg Pua Jr. said.
The study involves identifying locations for pickup and drop-off of bus passengers nearest LRT-2 stations.
"We assure all our 'kababayan' (countrymen) that the LTFRB and the LRTA are now focusing on this matter and will come up with the results of the study in the soonest possible time," Pua said, noting the project would also involve Pasig City, Marikina City, Quezon City, and San Juan.
