LTFRB improves resolution rate of complaints to 81%

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) reported that 622 out of 720 show-cause orders have been resolved under the leadership of its chairman, Vigor Mendoza II, since January this year.

Mendoza said the high solution rate of 86 percent was an indication of improved actions on complaints that reached the agency.

”The high complaint resolution rate should also factor in the speed on how these complaints were solved without sacrificing due process and impartiality,” he added.

”Our goal is that there should be zero backlog on all cases and other concerns raised before the LTFRB. We are doing well since the start of the year, and we are on the right track to achieving this goal,” Mendoza said.

Mendoza warned public utility vehicle (PUV) operators to comply with rules and regulations, noting the authority to operate a PUV is more of a privilege than a right.

Any serious violation, he said, including hiring reckless drivers and improper maintenance of units, could lead to suspension or revocation of permit to operate.
