Ludvig Aberg is among the many players in contention to win the PGA Championship heading into the weekend.
Aberg finds himself in a tie for ninth after two rounds, having followed his opening round 72 with a four-under 66.
The Swede is joined by several others on two-under, including world number one and defending champion Scottie Scheffler.
That is despite frustration from the American, with Scheffler labelling some Aronimink pins “absurd” on day two, although he did insist the set up was fair.
Three shots further back, Rory McIlroy disagreed with Scheffler about Aronimink somewhat, saying: “The only thing I would say is, I think a bunched leaderboard like this, I think it’s a sign of not a great setup. I think when it’s as bunched as it is, because it hasn’t really enabled anyone to separate themselves.”
McIlroy’s Ryder Cup teammate Aberg has since shared his verdict on the course after his second round of the PGA Championship.

Commenting if his weekend is looking optimistic at Aronimink, Aberg said: “Yeah, absolutely. Like you said, optimistic is a good word.
“I think, I like that yesterday I didn’t hit the ball very well, but I was able to sort of get back into hitting golf shots again today.
“I felt like I was striking it nice all day. If I can keep that up tomorrow and keep the patience, I’ll be happy.”
And when asked how many pins he felt he simply couldn’t make a run at on Friday, he said: “Plenty, yeah, definitely plenty.
“The one that stands out is definitely 11, where you probably know going into you’re not going to get it close.
“What’s cool about this place is it gives you short clubs on a lot of these par-4s, but it’s still really hard to get it close.
“Then you mix that in with some strong par-3s and it’s a good test. I felt like I handled it well today.
“I didn’t feel… I didn’t try to force anything, I was okay with 20 feet, and I was okay with 25 feet at times. I think that’s what you got to do when you play this golf course.”

Aberg is currently chasing his maiden major win this week at the PGA Championship, with extra motivation coming from his missed cut last year.
And he is certainly in contention to lift the trophy at Aronimink, although several other players are in an extremely congested leaderboard.
But all the Swede can do is focus on himself on Saturday and Sunday, with his confidence set to be high after a very satisfactory Friday.
Sharing his best shot into a tough flag in round two, he said: “I really like the wedge I hit on 2. 2 is a back pin where it goes away from you behind it.
“I was able to kind of take some off of a sand wedge and fly it and hop and stop it to really where I wanted to putt from.
“But, yeah, there’s plenty of tough ones. 14 comes to mind too. 4-, 5-iron to a back right pin. And, yeah, overall pleased with today.”
And when asked if there are many putts he has that don’t break less than two feet, he replied: “No, you get a lot of breaking putts.
“I feel like I’ve played… I mean, I use the AimPoint system, and I play a lot of sort of two to three percent putts. Yeah, they’re tricky.
“The lag putts are a lot of up and over. Speed is really important, which gets tricky when it’s windy, but it’s a good test.”
He is currently ranked 56th at the PGA Championship for his SG: Putting figure of 0.612, having instead really impressed with his SG: Approach to Green total of 4.258, for which he is ranked fourth.
