MacroAsia Corporation said Tuesday that its associate, Lufthansa Technik Philippines, was looking to expand its Philippine operations with a new base maintenance facility at Clark International Airport.
The company said that Lufthansa Technik had already signed a lease for a plot of land.
Macroasia told the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) that the announcement regarding the planned facility was made during the state visit of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Upon full completion, Lufthansa Technik’s Clark facility will cover approximately 157,000 square meters and be able to accommodate up to nine wide-body aircraft bays. Initial operation is targeted in 2028.
The facility will complement Lufthansa Technik Philippines' existing operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila.
Macroasia shares dipped P0.02, or 0.52 percent, to settle at P3.85 per share on Tuesday.
