The whole of Luzon and the western part of Visayas would have occasional heavy rain due to the southwest monsoon (habagat), the state weather bureau Pagasa said early Friday morning.
In its 4 a.m. weather advisory, Pagasa said Zambales and Bataan would experience occasional heavy rain and were under an Orange heavy rainfall warning within three hours.
Pagasa warned of flash floods or landslides in areas experiencing heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon were under a Yellow rainfall warning within three hours.
Pagasa advised the public and concerned disaster response and management offices to monitor the weather updates.
The rest of the archipelago will have generally fair weather with partly cloudy skies and localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
Pagasa is also monitoring multiple low-pressure areas outside the Philippine area of responsibility. (TMT)
