A car plate bidding incident in Johor Bahru recently went viral after a Facebook post revealed that someone accidentally added an extra zero while trying to bid RM6,900 for the car plate number ‘A505A’.
2nd highest bid was only at RM6,800
Instead of bidding RM6,900, the buyer ended up submitting RM69,000, a tenfold increase — and won the bid by a very comfortable margin.
The salesman shared a screenshot showing the top bid at RM69,000, while the second-highest offer was just RM6,800.
This sparked speculation that the winning bidder probably didn’t mean to fork out that much and had accidentally added one more zero.
