A recent incident went viral after a buyer allegedly added an extra zero while bidding for a car license plate with the number “A505A.”

A salesman shared a screenshot on his Facebook showing the highest bid, which was apparently ten times higher than the second-highest bidder’s offer.

The license plate number was auctioned for RM69,000

The bidder ended up with a winning bid of RM69,000. However, many believed that the bidder may have won due to a typo and had actually meant to type RM6,900, due to the second-highest bid being only RM6,800.

Here are the top 3 bids:

  1. RM69,000.00
  2. RM6,800.00
  3. RM5,500.00

In the post, the salesman wrote:

“The license plate number A505A was auctioned for RM69,000. If it weren’t for the extra zero that was accidentally pressed, then this number must hold some deep meaning for him.”
