A 62-year-old local man was arrested after allegedly setting a car on fire in Jalan Midah 1, Cheras, on 31 August.
The elderly man is believed to have hallucinated that a foreign man and a woman had entered the vehicle to engage in an intimate act, prompting him to approach the car and knock on its door.

The suspect had allegedly thrown a flammable substance underneath the car, causing it to catch fire, as reported by Berita Harian.
According to Cheras District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud, police arrested the local man, who works as a plumber, within 24 hours of the incident in Desa Tun Razak.
Mohd Rosdi added that an inspection of the suspect’s vehicle found a bottle containing a liquid believed to be thinner, which was allegedly used as an accelerant in the incident.
“At the time of the incident, the elderly man was believed to be under the influence of drugs,” he said.

Suspect’s urine test came back positive
Mohd Rosdi added that checks found no previous criminal record involving the suspect. However, an initial urine screening test came back positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine.
He said the suspect was remanded for three days to assist with investigations under Section 435 of the Penal Code. If convicted, he could face up to 14 years in prison and a fine.
The investigation papers were later referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s (DPP) office, which instructed police to charge the suspect under the same section.
The man was subsequently brought before the Jalan Duta Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur on Friday (4 September), where he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The suspect was ordered to be detained at Sungai Buloh Prison pending the next mention of his case on 26 October.
