A durian orchard deal turned thorny after the CEO of a fruit and vegetable wholesaler, importer and exporter was accused of cheating a businessman of millions of Ringgit.
Chan Huann Heng was charged at the Shah Alam Sessions Court today, where he pleaded not guilty before judge Dazuki Ali, reported FMT.

According to the charge sheet, Chan allegedly cheated DXN Industries (M) Sdn Bhd director and chairman Lim Siow Jin by misrepresenting that a payment of RM1.65 million, made through an invoice issued by Topone Solution Sdn Bhd, was meant to buy a durian orchard in Raub on behalf of Lim’s firm.
Chan was accused of dishonestly inducing Lim to transfer the money from DXN Industries’ bank account to Topone Solution’s bank account at Jalan Kelab Tropicana on Feb 5, 2024.
Granted bail
Chan faces a jail term of between one and 10 years, whipping and a fine, if convicted under Section 420 of the Penal Code.

During proceedings, deputy public prosecutor Muaz Khairuddin proposed bail of RM100,000, citing the amount of money involved in the case.
However, it was objected by defence counsel Dhanesh Subramaniam Nair, who said Chan had cooperated fully with authorities during the investigation.
Dazuki eventually allowed Chan bail of RM80,000 with one surety and fixed Nov 30 for mention.
