It’s not every day you see a digital board being used to name and shame residents over unpaid fees — but that’s exactly what happened at one condominium in Malaysia.

A TikTok user by the name @staywoke_property recently uploaded a video showing a large electronic display board at a local condominium, and it has since gone viral.

The board wasn’t showing the usual community notices or weather updates — instead, it listed the names (which were censored in the video) and unit numbers of owners who had yet to settle their maintenance fees.

What really drew attention was the staggering amount some residents owed — with figures ranging from over RM5,000 to a jaw-dropping RM15,000+ in arrears.

The video has sparked debate online, having racked up more than 100,000 views and hundreds of comments from curious netizens.

‘My apartment displayed the names, unit numbers, and outstanding amounts inside the lift. But still, no one feels ashamed. Not until it reaches the High Court.’

‘Uishh RM15k unpaid. How many years of maintenance is that? That’s worrying.’
