Local entrepreneur, Yew Boon Xiang, who is more affectionately known as Boss Mario, is spending the Ramadan season by touching hearts and building bonds.

In a video posted to his TikTok page, he shared how he had taken a petrol station worker and single mother, Kak Linda, and her children out to break their fasts together after previously meeting them at a Ramadan bazaar. He also took the opportunity to give them various gifts, causing Kak Linda to cry tears of joy.

Boss Mario wrote, “I just helped as much as I could to make things easier for Kak Linda and her children throughout the month of Ramadan. I hope that Kak Linda always stays strong in taking care of her children and pray that I will always be healthy and blessed. Inshaallah, we will meet again.”

They’ve met before!

This comes after Boss Mario had initially bumped into Kak Linda at a Ramadan bazaar in Melaka a week prior, where he had discovered that her husband had passed away due to a heart attack only 4 months ago.

He then proceeded to give Kak Linda some money while gifting her elder son a new handphone before they went their separate ways.

An invite to buka puasa

Believing that what he did for Kak Linda and her children was not enough and wanting to cheer them up further, he later invited them for the buka puasa session.

Kak Linda’s younger son then also received a new handphone during the buka puasa session while Kak Linda received a bouquet of RM50 bank notes! He also provided them with Baju Rayas, so that they didn’t have to worry about that either.

In the end, both Kak Linda and Boss Mario were in tears.

Speaking to Harian Metro, Boss Mario revealed that he empathised with them as he, too, had lost someone.

“My father died 8 years ago from lung cancer, so I understand how they feel about celebrating Ramadan and Hari Raya soon without their father,” he said.
