In a world where acts of kindness often go unnoticed, one man’s genuine effort to return a lost bag to its rightful owner has gone viral, capturing the hearts of many Malaysians.
The video has since garnered over 650,000 views and hundreds of comments praising the man for his sense of honesty.
M’sian finds bag by the roadside, tracks down owner
In a 5-minute long video posted by @pitstopakustik on TikTok, it began with him describing how he stumbled upon a bag lying on the roadside.
Instead of ignoring it, he chose to investigate its contents to find clues about the owner, where he found several personal belongings inside, including the owner’s identification documents and a handphone that had a severely damaged screen.
For a good portion of the clip, the man embarked on a journey to track down the owner and didn’t give up despite facing challenges along the way.
After spending much time finding the owner’s house and going to the police station, he successfully tracked down the owner and returned the bag intact.
Towards the end of the clip, the grateful owner is seen giving the man RM100 as a token of appreciation despite the latter’s repeated attempts to decline the reward.
