Potholes are not only a public eyesore, but it is also poses a danger that can lead to injuries and even death if a car or motorcycle were to drive over it at high speeds.
Not wanting anyone to fall victim to pothole-related accidents, a man took it upon himself to alert oncoming drivers of a pothole by placing a tree branch right inside it.
M’sian man puts tree branch inside giant pothole
In a 36-second TikTok clip shared by @roti.john.bhai three days ago, it showed a busy road with a gaping pothole right in the middle as several cars drove past it.
While most of the passing vehicles are able to avoid the pothole, a trailer’s back wheel unfortunately drove over it, sending a loud clunking noise echoing into the air.
A man clad in a white collared top and jeans who was standing by the roadside waited for the road to be clear before he walked towards the pothole and placed a tree branch right inside it.
Though it wasn’t much, the tree branch served as a warning sign to oncoming vehicles about the pothole and to cause them to veer away from it.
‘Where’s JKR?’
In the comment section, netizens were full of praise for the man who went out of his way to warn motorists of the pothole with the tree branch.
Meanwhile, a netizen wondered where was Public Works Department (JKR) as it was their responsibility to fix potholes.
Interestingly, another netizen revealed that those whose vehicle have been damaged by potholes can claim for repair fees from JKR. However, a police report must be filed first.
