A recent TikTok video by a Malaysian man questioning the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) officers for allegedly turning a blind eye to luxury cars parked illegally has gone viral.

In a viral video, user @thenshijin, recorded himself confronting the officers after they issued a notice and clamped his car, leaving the nearby luxury vehicle untouched.

In the video, the OP expressed frustration over what he saw as a double standard.

He captioned it with, “Clamp Bezza but don’t clamp expensive car. Explain this, DBKL? Fyi, we already paid our fee but where’s justice? Expensive car means I can break the rules ah?”

This video has since attracted a flood of reactions from netizens, with many joining the conversation around fairness and justice.

In the comment section, one user questioned, “U park, u pay lah… why point at others?”

The OP responded, clarifying, “The issue isn’t that I don’t want to pay. I did wrong, and I admit my mistake by paying. But others? Does the law not apply to them just because they drive an expensive car?”

Another commenter asked if DBKL responded to his questions, to which the OP replied, “They just kept quiet when I asked why they didn’t clamp the expensive car.”

Some netizens speculated about potential reasons for DBKL’s actions, suggesting that luxury cars might have specific mechanisms that make clamping difficult.

Maybe they’ve paid through the parking app-lah,” one user commented, to which the OP replied, “If there’s a fine issued, that’s fair then.”

Another netizen offered a different perspective: “From what I know, luxury cars have a system on their wheels that makes clamping difficult. That’s why they’re only fined.”

The OP acknowledged this possibility, commenting, Oh, if that’s true, then fair enough. But when I asked them about it, they stayed silent. If they’re actually issuing fines, then that’s fair.”
