A white car suspected of double parking and blocking a residential exit left a man stranded for nearly two hours at a housing area in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam, before he was eventually forced to switch to a motorcycle to continue his journey.

The incident was shared by a Threads user, Nnurullle, who said the vehicle was parked in a way that obstructed access in the flat area, preventing other cars from moving out.
Horns for 2 hours, but no response from driver
According to the post, the trapped motorist repeatedly honked for almost two hours in an attempt to get the car owner to come down and move the vehicle. However, there was no response throughout the ordeal.
The driver was reportedly supposed to head to Alor Setar for work matters but was unable to leave due to the obstruction, forcing him to abandon his car and travel by motorcycle instead.
The continuous honking also reportedly disturbed nearby residents, including those working night shifts, drawing further frustration.

Netizens slam double parking, call for stricter enforcement
The incident quickly went viral online, with many netizens criticising irresponsible parking habits in residential areas.
Some urged authorities to take immediate action, including towing illegally or improperly parked vehicles to prevent similar situations. Others suggested that drivers should at least leave contact numbers when parking temporarily to avoid inconveniencing others.
Many also expressed disbelief that a vehicle could be left unattended for such a long time in a way that completely blocked access, calling the situation “unacceptable” and saying it was hard to understand how the owner did not return or check on the vehicle for nearly two hours.
