M'sian Photographer Apologises, Pays Couple RM500 For Eating Wedding Food Without Permission
A freelance photographer publicly apologised to a newlywed couple after admitting that he ate food served at their wedding without first seeking permission.

In a post, the photographer said the incident occurred while he was working at his client’s wedding last Sunday (July 19).

He acknowledged that his actions were inappropriate and should not have happened while he was on the job.

“I admit that I took the food without an invitation or permission from my client. I realise that what I did was wrong and should not have happened,” he wrote.

Paid RM500 in compensation

According to the photographer, the couple requested that he compensate them for the food and issue a public apology.

He subsequently shared proof of a RM500 transfer made to the client.

The photographer added that he deeply regretted the incident and would treat it as a lesson.

He also reminded other photographers and videographers to maintain proper etiquette and professionalism while working at events.

Post removed after 24 hours

The apology attracted widespread attention online, with some netizens questioning whether it was reasonable to charge a wedding photographer RM500 simply for eating the food served at the event.

Others said vendors should still ask for permission instead of assuming that they are entitled to the food.

After keeping the apology online for 24 hours, the photographer removed it.

He later clarified that the post was not “ragebait” and that he had only published it to apologise for his mistake, not to seek sympathy.

“Once again, I apologise and will take this as a lesson for myself,” he wrote.
