Sometimes, help comes when you least expect it. For one Singaporean driver, it came from across the border.

A group of Malaysian traffic police officers were recently praised online after they stopped to help a Singaporean woman who had a flat tyre near the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar (BSI) customs checkpoint in Johor Bahru.

Officers stepped in without being asked

In a Facebook post shared by the BSI Police on July 4, several uniformed officers were seen surrounding the stranded vehicle as they worked together to fix the issue.

At least five officers were involved in changing the flat tyre, while the driver, seen holding an umbrella looked on, clearly touched by the unexpected gesture.

According to the post, the officers didn’t wait to be asked for help.

Instead, they acted immediately out of genuine concern, reflecting what the police described as “values of humanity” and a strong commitment to public service.

“They set a great example”

The BSI Police praised their own team for setting a good example and reinforcing the positive image of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

Their sincere actions not only reflected humanity, but also strengthened the community’s view of PDRM as caring and approachable regardless of nationality,” the post read.
