A 39-year-old woman was stabbed to death at a house in Taman Tiram, Kulim Hi-Tech, Kedah, yesterday (14 September).
According to Kulim District Police Chief Superintendent Syamsul Sinring, the woman was allegedly stabbed 13 times by her husband and was later pronounced dead that same night.

Preliminary investigations found that the incident was believed to have happened following an argument between the couple over jealousy and marital problems, as reported by Berita Harian.
Following the incident, the suspect reportedly showered before picking up their three-year-old child from the babysitter. He then handed the child over to his sister at the Juru Rest and Service Area (R&R) in Penang, where he told her that he had stabbed his wife.
The 43-year-old suspect later turned himself in at the Lunas Police Station at around 8:40 PM, where he admitted to stabbing his wife at their home. He also handed over a folding knife believed to have been used in the incident.
Syamsul added that the incident took place in the master bedroom of the single-storey terrace house, where the couple lived with their three-year-old child.
“An inspection found what appeared to be bloodstains on the bedsheet, mattress, pillow, headboard, and several items on the bed. A forensic team from the Kedah Police Contingent Headquarters also collected 11 samples related to the incident,” he said.
Suspect tested negative for drugs and had no previous criminal record
The suspect was later detained by officers from the Kulim District Criminal Investigation Division at the Lunas Police Station at around 9:00 PM.
According to police, he admitted to stabbing his wife 13 times using the folding knife, including seven times in the chest, five times in the abdomen, and once on her right rib.
Syamsul said the victim was taken to Kulim Hospital by her family and was pronounced dead at around 9:30 PM yesterday.
An initial urine screening on the unemployed suspect found that he was not under the influence of drugs, while police also found that he had no previous criminal record.
The victim’s body was later sent to the Forensic Department at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
