The rider added that he had already managed to save RM15,000 for their planned wedding ceremony through his own hard work.

“I know it’s not much, but believe me, this came from sweat and halal earnings,” he said.

Felt hopeless after being judged for his job

The man also admitted feeling discouraged after hearing that food riders are often seen as unsuitable to become husbands or sons-in-law.

His post later gained traction online, with many fellow riders and netizens stepping forward to offer words of encouragement.

One rider shared that he recently got engaged to a teacher after working in the industry for years, adding that his fiancée’s family fully accepted his career.

Another commented that there was nothing shameful about being a rider, saying many people had started families while working the same job.

Others praised the man for being financially disciplined enough to save RM15,000, with some encouraging him to stay patient and trust that “better people will come into his life”.
