Netizens shared their two cents

While netizens were amused and baffled by the discovery, one Malaysian pointed out that the RM5 note may have special value due to it being among the nominees for the “Bank Note of the Year Award” by the International Bank Note Society (IBNS) in 2012.

The Bank Note of the Year Award considers artistic merit, design, use of colour, contrast, balance, and security features of each nomination.
