With the Ramadan period well into its 11th day now, hundreds of Ramadan bazaars are currently up and running all across Malaysia to cater to Muslim customers looking to break fast.
Unfortunately, there has also been a slew of complaints and unhygienic discoveries made by bazaar customers, who have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction over the lackluster quality control and exorbitant prices.
M’sian woman finds ragged cloth inside murtabak
A customer named Yuhaiza Hamid took to Facebook yesterday (Mar 21) to share a horrifying discovery she made after buying murtabak from a Ramadan bazaar in Desa Pandan.
According to the caption, Yuhaiza wrote that she felt something was amiss when she tried cutting into the murtabak but was unable to.
Upon a closer look, she realised that there a piece of ragged cloth right inside the murtabak, causing her family to feel ill and vomit.
To prove that it was indeed a piece of cloth, Yuhaiza uploaded a video of her rinsing the fabric she found inside her meal.
She also dismissed allegations that she had fabricated the story, adding that she paid for the murtabak using a QR code, thus proving that she had indeed made the purchase.
Netizens disgusted
In the comment section, netizens could hardly believe their eyes and expressed horror over Yuhaiza’s less-than-pleasant discovery.
‘How did this happen? Such carelessness. Hope you will confront the seller.’
‘Eiiii such an unhygienic seller.’
They also urged her to lodge a report with the Health Ministry (MOH) over the unsanitary incident.
