Malaysian woman’s Threads post goes viral after stranger holds her hand on LRT to help her balance.

SOMETIMES, all it takes is a moment of empathy and kindness to make a small difference in someone’s day.

A Malaysian woman recently shared a sweet moment between herself and a complete stranger in an LRT train.

Describing the incident on Threads, the woman said she was having difficulty keeping her balance on the moving train when another female passenger stepped in to help by holding her hand throughout the ride.

“To the lady in the LRT, thank you for being willing to hold my hand because I couldn’t reach the handrail,” she wrote in the now-viral post.

As the act of kindness gained traction online, some netizens speculated that the helpful passenger might have been a Prasarana staff member on duty, although this was not confirmed.

The post also prompted others to share similar experiences or express their willingness to help fellow passengers in the same way.

“To be honest, I often feel like offering my hand, shoulder or backpack to other women on the train who can’t reach the handle or when it’s too crowded, but I’m afraid they might feel uncomfortable or awkward,” one user commented.

“I once held the hands of a female passenger and her friend. It was their first time in Kuala Lumpur and they probably didn’t know which train to take, so I helped give them directions,” another shared.

“I love it when women step up to help one another — literally saving the world one small gesture at a time,” another user wrote.
