A local woman who was reported missing several days ago in Melaka was found dead inside a car alongside her ex-boyfriend in Taman Inang Sari, Durian Tunggal, at around midnight on Sunday (Sept 20).
Alor Gajah district police chief Supt Ahmad Abu Bakar said police received a report from a member of the public who spotted the car being parked by the roadside under suspicious circumstances.
“Further inspection showed that the victims, a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, were found dead inside the vehicle.
“Based on the fact that their bodies had bloated, we believe they have died three days ago,” he said.
Woman had gone missing
Ahmad added that on Sept 17, the woman’s mother had lodged a missing person’s report after the former failed to come home.
He said before police could take further action on the report, they were alerted of bodies being found inside a car.
“We’ve confirmed that the female victim was indeed the woman who was reported missing, while preliminary checks at the scene found no signs of robbery or a struggle.”
The case has been classified as sudden death (SDR) while the victims’ bodies were sent to the Forensic Unit for post-mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.
Broke up with BF prior
Speaking to reporters, the female victim’s brother said his sister had dated her then-boyfriend for several years.
At one point, they were looking to get married but the plan fell through, leading to them breaking up.
“When I received a call from a friend informing me that the man found dead alongside my sister inside the was her former boyfriend, I was extremely shocked.
I never expected something like this to happen because as far as I knew, they had already broken up.”
He added that his sister was raised by their grandmother since childhood before she moved away to live with her aunt.
