What time would you wake up for a debit card? For some Malaysian BTS fans, apparently before the sun even comes up.
Fans were seen gathering outside Maybank’s Shah Alam Main Branch in Seksyen 14 from the early hours of the morning after the Maybank Visa | BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ Debit Card became available on Sept. 23.
And judging from the crowd, you might have mistaken the bank for a BTS concert venue.
Fans arrived as early as 4am
A staff member shared photos of the situation on Threads, showing BTS fans waiting both inside and outside the Shah Alam branch.
In one post, he jokingly asked: “Is this a bank or a BTS concert?”
Speaking to WeirdKaya, Irfan confirmed that the scenes were taken at the Shah Alam Main Branch in Seksyen 14.
According to him, customers had already begun showing up at around 3am to 4am.
Day 2 also saw fans ‘camping’ outside
In another update the following morning, Irfan shared a photo showing a group of customers sitting outside the bank while waiting for it to open.
The photo showed fans sitting along the walkway with their bags and belongings, looking more like they were waiting for concert doors to open than preparing for a banking transaction.
More photos shared by Irfan showed a packed banking hall, with customers holding BTS themed items while staff attended to the crowd.
The atmosphere even prompted Irfan, who handles the branch’s speaker, to ask customers what songs they wanted him to play for the day.
