M’sians Shocked & Amused at the Same Time After Seeing Sun Bear in Terengganu Failing to Climb Fence

A viral video has been circulating on social media recently, showing a Malaysian’s encounter with a sun bear at a residential area in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.

The video, originally shared by Facebook user Ryu Watanabe has since been reposted on other public social media accounts, including this post by Teganukita which has garnered over 465,000 views and more than 3,300 reactions as of the time of writing.

At the start of the video, the sun bear can be seen on the opposite side of the road of the person who was recording.

The sun bear then started climbing a wire fence to get to the other side, which seemed to be an open field of an unidentified building.

However, just as it managed to climb over, the sun bear got one leg stuck on the wire fence and struggled to break free. The sun bear was stuck there up until the end of the video, with the aftermath of the situation unknown.

Throughout the video, the man recording can be heard shouting about the sun bear being in front of a shop in the neighbourhood and that it was stuck.

According to the caption of the video, the incident happened in a residential area near Tok Jembal in Kuala Nerus.

Malaysians amused by the cameraman’s antics

In the comments of the post, many Malaysians were shocked by the incident but found it rather humorous at the same due to the rather comical way the sun bear failed to climb over the fence.

One commenter said that the sun bear must’ve been annoyed by the person recording for simply watching it get stuck on the fence without helping.

Meanwhile, the rest of the comments section was filled with Malaysians making fun of the cameraman for being too overexcited that his video was shaky and not focused.

One commenter said that he got a headache seeing the way the cameraman recorded the incident while another commenter asked him to be more focused when recording.
