The prices of goods continue to rise, but how much are you willing to pay for certain items? A restaurant in Johor Bahru recently went viral for charging its customers RM2 for a glass of iced water.

In the viral Facebook post, the customer ordered chicken and pork, which cost him RM18.80. As for beverages, he merely got 2 glasses of iced filtered water, each costing RM2, so that’s RM4 for the drinks alone.

With that price for just a plain waiter, the customer highlighted that the drinks were NOT bottomless, which he found unacceptable.

“Famous restaurant in Johor. They changed the menu, and a glass of plain water is RM2. Non-refillable. I can’t accept this.”

“Does it cure my ailments?”

Other social media users were also baffled by the price of a glass of filtered water, with one suggesting the customer report the matter to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN).

“Report it to KPDN. I stopped patronizing them 10 years ago. This is daylight robbery and even if they want to make a profit, this is not the way.”

“RM2 for a glass of filtered water. The restaurant operator earns a lot from this, and he would hope you get yourself something else to drink, so he could earn more.”

“Crazy. What a way to make money. Does this filtered water keep the illnesses away from me?”

What do you think of the price?
