Everton have launched a bid for River Plate striker Rafael Santos Borre.
Fox Sports says Everton have offered 15m for Santos Borre, who featured in the weekend's Copa Libertadores final defeat to Flamengo.
However, River have turned down the bid - referring Everton to the striker's buyout clause.
If Everton want to sign Santos Borre in January they'll have to cough up 30m to meet his escape option.
Santos Borre is a Colombia international.
