Harry Maguire rejected Manchester City's offer of 278,000-a-week in order to join Manchester United.
The offer would've seen the England international pocket around 70m, according to the Daily Star.
The report claims 26-year-old Maguire held talks with Etihad officials over the deal.
However, Maguire eventually chose to join United, who broke the world-record fee for a defender to secure his signature.
Fans have already been impressed with the signing after Maguire's debut performance in Sunday's win over Chelsea.
