Kota Kinabalu: The resolution of issues related to the implementation of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) is one of the main priorities of the unity government, said Sabah and Sarawak affairs minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.

Armizan said several resolutions were taken at a Cabinet meeting on Jan 4.

"Among other decisions that have been made is for the relevant federal ministries or agencies to follow up and continue the implementation of policy decisions that have been reached under the administration of the previous government,” Armizan said in response to a written question from Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau (PH - Tuaran), according to a statement.

"In addition, the relevant federal ministries and agencies also continue discussions for pending issues and immediately present proposed solutions to the issues for the Cabinet’s consideration.”

"The existing consultation platform between the Federal Government and the State Governments of Sabah and Sarawak will also continue to follow up on issues that are still in the negotiation process with proposed modifications and improvement mechanisms."
