PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has detained six people, including the son of a menteri besar, to assist in a probe into falsified documents to make RM600,000 in false claims.

Berita Harian quoted an MACC source as saying that a senior officer in the said menteri besar’s office was also detained.

The suspects, aged 27 to 37, have been remanded as part of the probe which involves various infrastructure development projects in the state since 2022.

“The investigation is believed to involve false claims for works that were not implemented.

MACC intelligence division director Azmi Kamaruzaman reportedly confirmed their arrests.
