MACC investigates 4 reports alleging cash distribution during state election campaign

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is examining four reports involving allegations of cash handouts during the campaign period for the Negeri Sembilan state election.

MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman said two of the reports involved candidates, while the other two concerned voters.

He said all complaints received were related to allegations of cash distribution and were currently under review by the anti-corruption agency.

“We opened an operations room in conjunction with the Negeri Sembilan state election, and as of yesterday, MACC had received four reports.

“Of that number, two involved candidates and two involved voters, with all complaints relating to allegations of cash handouts,” he said during a press conference in Putrajaya on Friday. - July 31, 2026
