Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will open investigation papers into a RM1.11 billion investment after reviewing documents from complainants.

GENTING HIGHLANDS: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission will open investigation papers into an alleged misappropriation involving a RM1.11 billion investment linked to a former senior minister.

Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya said the commission needs time to review documents first.

He stated this after receiving complaints from three non-governmental organisations.

“However, at this stage, I hope to be given some time first to examine the documents submitted to us before any further action is taken,” he said after a workshop closing ceremony.

The MACC confirmed receiving the report regarding the alleged investment misappropriation yesterday.

Complainants suspected irregularities in the negotiation and approval process.

The report also highlighted issues that could give rise to perceived conflicts of interest.
