KOTA KINABALU: Tuaran MP Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau has voiced support for a proposal to allow postal voting for Sabahans working, studying, or residing in the peninsula.
He said the call, first raised by Petaling Jaya MP Lee Chean Chung, had been made repeatedly by civil society groups including Bersih.
Madius said many Sabahans face difficulties returning home to vote due to expensive airfares, limited flights, and work leave constraints.
He added that expanding access to postal voting would strengthen democracy by ensuring all citizens can participate in elections regardless of location.
He urged the Election Commission (EC) and State Government to review the necessary legal and logistical frameworks to implement the system ahead of future elections.
