Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed, the Pulai UMNO Division Chief, characterized Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad as a 'kicked hero'.
He claimed Dr. Mahathir was 'kicked' by Bersatu's President, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Mohd. Yassin.
Dr. Mahathir accused UMNO President Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi of not being the hero who brought him down as Prime Minister, prompting Nur Jazlan to give him the title.
Nur Jazlan stated that Dr. Mahathir was unsuccessful in threatening Ahmad Zahid to disband UMNO after the party lost the 14th general election.
"Mahathir thinks Zahid is of= a snobby boy who is easily bullied. Although Mahathir used his position to accuse, shame, and undermine Zahid's credibility, he forgot that Zahid was an accomplished politician.
"In a circumstance in which Mahathir wants to bury UMNO, Zahid continues to plan actions with Mahathir's 'protégé', Muhyiddin, also known for his treasonous attitude toward Mahathir.
"What's more, if Muhyiddin appears to be anxious to succeed Mahathir as Prime Minister, Zahid and others' work will be easier.
"Zahid did all that not because he wanted to be PM but because he wanted to save UMNO from being a victim of Mahathir's revenge," according to Nur Jazlan.
Nur Jazlan asserted that Dr. Mahathir has always maintained that other parties must accept all of his commands or face being removed.
"What kind of fate befell my late father, Tok Mat Rahmat? He believed that after he was removed from his role as cabinet minister in 1999, Mahathir would provide him with any other position.
"Unfortunately, he did not receive anything, and worse, he was removed from his position as UMNO Secretary General after being accused of favoring Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the 1996 UMNO election. That was how Mahathir dismissed people who had made significant contributions to the party and him.
"Even Mahathir did not appreciate Tok Mat Rahmat's efforts through the Semarak Program and the establishment of Sabah UMNO to revive Mahathir, who had become a 'carcass' in the eyes of the Malays when UMNO was banned in 1988," said Nur Jazlan.
As reported by the MalaysiaGazette, Dr. Mahathir told Ahmad Zahid not to brag or pretend to be a hero in order to bring himself down and therefore save UMNO.
Dr. Mahathir stated that he could not be ousted by Ahmad Zahid or UMNO because the party lost the general election.
Ahmad Zahid previously claimed to be the mastermind behind Dr. Mahathir's ouster as prime minister following the 2014 general election.
