Cult favourite fragrance brand Maison Margiela will be bringing a little slice of Paris to Singapore this May with a cafe and immersive pop-up at Beach Road.
Held from 1 – 18 May 2025, the Maison Margiela ‘House of Memories’ in Singapore takes over an entire shophouse on the heritage-rich street to not only showcase the brand’s bestsellers, but also celebrate the launch of its latest addition, the Afternoon Delight EDT.
Maison Margiela Singapore pop-up: Cafe, immersive installations, and more
Open to the public and free to visit, the space promises to be a multi-sensorial deep dive into the world of Maison Margiela Replica – especially apt since every fragrance has been created to evoke a particular memory or place.
The pop-up is split up into several sections, each of which are as Instagrammable as the next. Make new memories at interactive installations like Sunday Morning (fluffy bed and pillows included), and Beach Walk, which features actual white sand and lounge chairs so you can pretend you’re in Provence.
The Fantasy Box is a stark contrast to the bright airiness of its previous rooms. Designed to draw you into the stories behind the new Fantasies collection, the darkened room heightens your senses to the emotions behind Soul of the Forest, Flying, and Dancing on the Moon Eaux de Parfums.
Maison Margiela masterclasses
Exclusive masterclasses led by local artists Baremetal and Hier Goods will also be available. Visitors who wish to attend need only to spend at least S$55 on the Maison Margiela Lazada store to earn a spot. This will also entitle them to door gifts worth up to S$150, including a S$50 Maison Margiela Lazada voucher (with no minimum spend), a three-piece Replica Fragrance Discovery Kit, two-piece Replica Bath & Body Discovery Kit, Mini Replica candle, and their Masterclass creation.
Baremetal classes will take place on 5 and 6 May, where guests will learn to create a bottle-shaped keychain with their initials using traditional metal fabrication techniques.
Meanwhile, Hier Goods will impart the lost art of letter-writing and wax-sealing with its workshops on 15 and 16 May. The intimate sessions are all about turning memories into keepsakes, and will see guests bringing home a framed-up letter along with a wax seal to remember their experience by.
Each masterclass is limited to only eight guests per 1.5-hour session, so you’ll have to sign up quickly to secure a spot. More details on registration below.
What to order at the Maison Margiela cafe at the Singapore pop-up
The highlight for many, however, would be the Afternoon Delight Café, a cosy dine-in space that offers a selection of coffees and pastries that bring to life the brand’s many fragrances, especially the cafe’s namesake. Enjoy specially concocted coffee beverages like the vanilla bean cream-infused Afternoon Delight (S$9), or quench your thirst with On a Date (S$7), a fizzy blackcurrant grape soda that’s perfect after a hot day out.
Dainty madeleines (S$5) , a black tea cake (S$7), and a fresh cream poached pear short cake (S$10) are also available if you fancy a sweet treat.
About Maison Margiela’s Afternoon Delight EDT
The new fragrance Afternoon Delight joins the hallowed ranks of 13 other Eaux de Toilettes that are available in Singapore. Sweet yet light, the amber gourmand fragrance opens with a Madeleine accord that’s comforting (and delicious), before calming notes of sandalwood, Madagascan vanilla, and musks take over. The scent is also available as a candle.
