A major fire broke out at Deflo club in Sector 26 on Thursday evening, triggering panic. No casualties were reported in the incident. Fire tenders from Mani Majra and Sector 17 stations rushed to the spot after an emergency call was received around 4:42 PM.
All staff working in the club were safely evacuated. GS Multani, Station Fire Officer, Mani Majra, said it took nearly an hour to bring the blaze under control.
“We received the call at 4:42 PM and immediately dispatched teams. The fire was contained after about an hour of firefighting,” he said.
Police also reached the spot and cordoned off the area to manage traffic and crowd movement.
Preliminary reports suggest a short circuit triggered the fire inside the club.
